Reflection and Looking Ahead
First and foremost - a heartfelt "Thank you" to everyone who has supported Integrity Coffee thus far. We are a small, family operation with big plans for 2025 so your support means the world to us.
2024 brought some new opportunities that we aim to cash in on in the coming year, but also wasn't short of bringing it's own set of challenges for a small business like ours - the biggest of these has been navigating the historic rise in global coffee prices over the last year.
I won't bore you with the technical details of why this has occurred, suffice to say from an overly simplistic standpoint that supply has been faltering to the level of demand across the world. If you do care to dive in to the specific variables as to what is behind the surge in price, I found this article that does a good job laying out the nuances.
So what does this mean for Integrity? Part of our mission is to provide the highest quality coffees we can source to the public and our partners at an accessible price. A lot of thought and care has gone into our pricing structure to allow us to absorb the ebbs and flows of the sometimes volatile commodity markets to avoid passing those costs to you, the consumer. With the historic rise in the price of coffee across the globe that appears to be a 'new normal', we have hit the end of our ability to absorb this volatility without severely harming our ability to function and continue in our mission to you, our consumers. With that said, we are currently re-evaluating our current pricing structure for both retail and wholesale customers and you can expect to see those price increases by the start of Q2 2025. The goal is to look at our current model and find a balance of sustainability for the future and accessibility for our customers.
I personally know that this has been a challenging time for many economically with heightened cost of goods and services across the board which is just another reason this was a difficult decision to have to face for our business. The decision came down to this: these elevated costs are here to stay for the foreseeable future. In order for us to have a future as a business, the time to make the necessary adjustment would be now.
We are an incredibly small piece of the global supply chain that gets our beloved beverage from the farm to your table or café. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve you and hope to continue to be a part of your daily coffee experience.
Here's to 2025,
-Blake
